Provide Tier II-III network/desktop support. Troubleshoot network connectivity problems, monitor the network and servers, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions for expedient resolution. Install, administer, support, and maintain server hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems. Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes. Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans. Interface with vendors for procurement and maintenance of IT infrastructures. Manage trouble tickets using the Remedy Ticketing application. Maintain network security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures. Evaluate hardware and software, including peripherals and related equipment. Participate in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades. Manage the usage and performance of voice, video, and data networks. Develop and implement testing strategies and document results. Provide advice and training to end-users. Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship Must have DoD Secret Security Clearance (Tier 3 or higher). IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC) or higher. BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or three (3+) years of directly related experience in network administration and support. Experience with network installations and upgrades. Experience evaluating hardware and software-related equipment. Computing environment certificate (CCNA) or equivalent within 6 months of hire. Cisco networking knowledge/skills. Preferred
Knowledgeable and experienced in VMware NSX or CISCO VXLAN. Knowledgeable in creating a PPS (Ports, protocols, & services) request. Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Additional Information
