Identify data needs and write queries to extract data from university databases, compile data, translate into lay-language, and combine in publishable documents. Coordinate and complete reports/surveys for internal use or for external agencies. Generate and maintain accurate institutional data related to admissions, enrollment, financial aid, registration, course schedule, grade outcomes, degrees awarded, and Human Resources in the Institutional Research Office Portal. In collaboration with unit Director, assist with survey preparation and reporting processes related to the administrator evaluation process and faculty teaching evaluations. Cross-train with the director on preparation of program review and departmental effectiveness data sets, as well as other mission-critical institutional analyses and reports (e.g., enrollment comparison reports, course schedule & student exception reports, publication surveys, IPEDS, NMHED Edears reporting, NMHED quarterly performance measures reporting). Create training materials and documentation for reporting processes according to standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience. Experience in higher education is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze requests and translate data needs into actionable query results; ability to extract, manipulate, modify, translate, or transform large data sets to satisfy analysis requirements. Basic knowledge of SQL or other programming languages. Broad knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications. Ability to extract and analyze statistical data, evaluate data quality, and design tables, charts, and other visual representations to communicate value to campus constituents. General familiarity with survey administration best practices; ability to work with campus constituents in survey design, administration, and reporting. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods using software such as MS Access, Excel, Argos, SPSS, SAS, or comparable tools. Benefits
