Orbital Analyst (OA) - Wideband with Security Clearance

— Onsite position supporting Wideband operations of the Orbital Analyst Support III (OAS) program. The OA is responsible for real-time management of operational SATCOM systems, mitigating risks, and ensuring mission success under time-sensitive conditions. This role supports Wideband communications within the DSCS and WGS constellations, contributes to global mission assurance, provides on-site system technical support for satellite anomaly resolution, collaborates with software teams, and supports basic-level mission planning. The OA develops and delivers orbital analysis products and training under the guidance of the Lead Wideband OA, reviews and maintains training content, develops job aids, and contributes to anomaly resolution and contingency operations support. The OA must meet technical and operational standards in accordance with contract requirements and performance objectives. Responsibilities

Support Wideband satellite operations and orbital analysis, including product generation, maneuver planning, conjunction assessment, and telemetry analysis. Generate and provide daily orbital data to support multiple satellite contacts and command and control activities. Assist in maintaining and reviewing technical documentation such as OA procedures, job aids, worksheets, and training materials. Provide on-call OA SME support for Wideband operations and ensure technical, schedule, and service objectives are achieved. Develop and update OA training materials and technical reports. Serve as a certified Wideband OA instructor and maintain training and proficiency records for assigned personnel. Support operational simulations, relocation planning, and coordination with SOC operations and mission partners. Assist in troubleshooting satellite system anomalies and perform trending and performance analysis. Participate in customer briefings and contribute to technical recommendations that impact planning and operations. Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Astrophysics, Applied Mathematics, or related STEM field required; or 4 years of direct OA experience in lieu of degree. Completion of USAF/USSF Orbital Analyst Level II certification (preferred or within 4 months of hire). Additional training in satellite operations, astrodynamics, or SSA is desirable. Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience developing or delivering training content related to orbital analysis or space operations. Minimum 2 years of experience directly applying mathematical principles in a technical or mission planning environment. Prior experience with Wideband OA functions, including product generation, vector estimation, and satellite command and control. Experience supporting anomaly resolution, launch, and disposal operations preferred. Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis of national security space-related problems is desired. Experience working with JSON and XML files, often used for data exchange and API definitions. Experience in Space Domain Awareness mission support. Skills/Abilities

Ability to operate or learn orbital modeling tools (e.g., STK, MATLAB, FreeFlyer). Working knowledge of DSCS and WGS satellite systems; knowledge of conjunction assessment, satellite maneuver planning, and Wideband SATCOM operations. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Strong teamwork and analytical thinking abilities. Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods; bend, stoop, climb, reach, stretch, kneel, and squat. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods. Must be able to carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Must meet all physical requirements for secure facility access. Work Environment

Onsite position at Schriever SFS, CO; working indoors in an office environment. Potential exposure to electrical or mechanical hazards, elevated work areas, and confined spaces. Occasional travel to support contingency operations; SCIF-based work environment requiring TS/SCI clearance and adherence to DoD security protocols. May involve rotating shifts or on-call duty to support 24/7 mission requirements. Special Requirements

Must pass pre-employment background screening. Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Must possess, or be able to obtain, and maintain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance. Must be able to be cleared for base or site access. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must comply with all applicable cybersecurity and DoD information assurance policies. Must be available for a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Salary and Benefits
