Duties/Responsibilities
Brings story ideas and leads to the newsroom Can produce a 30-minute newscast on their own or more if needed Adheres to management’s guidance on editorial decisions Writing original, factual scripts for broadcast based on original reporting, news releases, wire copy, or other credible sources Communication with fellow producers, the desk, field crew, directors, and management about the plan for your newscast Communication with MMJs and anchors about story angles Responsible for making up to the minute technical and editorial decisions Builds newscasts with a creative and entertaining use of studio shots, live shots, graphics, and other elements Writes effective teases for maintaining viewership Other duties, as assigned Requirements
In-Office Strong computer literacy Knowledge of rundown software preferred (iNews or ENPS) Can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment A decisive nature and ability to make quick, good judgment calls Must be willing to work late nights or early mornings, and sometimes weekends Proficiency in writing, spelling, grammar, and the English language Our Perks & Benefits
