Under the direction of the Bakery Manager, Principal Baker, Senior Baker or Baker, the Baker Assistant is responsible for the production of multiple bakery products from a specified menu. Prepare basic bakery recipes according to culinary, production and quality standards. Weigh, sift, measure and mix baking ingredients; prepare and bake breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, puddings, cobblers, brownies and other baked goods items. Accurately operate the various bakery equipment and assist with training and monitoring others in its safe usage if needed. Adhere to all food handling and sanitation guidelines. Follow established timelines for food production as required by delivery times and production schedules. Salary & Compensation

Produce multiple bakery items from a specified menu under supervision. Prepare recipes according to culinary, production and quality standards. Weigh, sift, measure and mix ingredients; bake breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, puddings, cobblers, brownies and other baked goods. Utilize bakery equipment safely and assist with training and monitoring others in its use. Follow food handling, sanitation guidelines and production timelines. Qualifications
2-3 years demonstrated experience in a high-volume baking environment and general maintenance in a bakery environment. (Required) Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficient to determine and carry out job duties. (Required) Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume production setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening and problem solving techniques. (Required) Ability to perform under fluctuating workload and manage production and customer flow parameters. (Required) Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push and crouch for extended periods; frequently lift items up to 50 pounds. (Required) Ability to stand continuously for an eight-hour shift on uncarpeted surfaces. (Required) Ability to measure dry and liquid ingredients accurately in standard units. (Required) Skill in operating equipment such as mixers, food processors, slicers, blenders, ranges, fryers, droppers, radios, lifts and trash compactors. (Required) Knowledge of sanitation and safety policies in a food establishment. (Required) Experience in basic bakery item preparation for a high-volume bakery; knowledge of baking techniques and basic decoration. (Required) Basic bakery terminology and equipment understanding. (Required) Time management and organizational skills to plan daily production needs. (Required) Ability to work in a team-based environment.
