Overview
Accountant – San Antonio, TX – Onsite at IPSecure, Inc. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to support our finance department, with emphasis on government contracting and compliance. Join the team at IPSecure, a trusted leader in cybersecurity solutions for government and defense. The Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and assist with reporting and compliance, especially in support of government contracts. The position requires government contracting experience and will involve performing all accounting duties with minimal supervision. Responsibilities
Administer and monitor employee and subcontractor timesheets; process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time, including full-cycle payroll entries and reconciliations. Support payroll compliance and provide backup coverage as needed. Manage accounts payable and receivable, perform collections, and reconcile related accounts monthly. Generate and analyze invoices, financial statements, and specialized reports reflecting account status. Conduct month-end close activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank/credit account reconciliations. Collaborate with the Financial Analyst to create, improve, and maintain reporting processes using Costpoint software. Assist with budgeting, project control, and financial analysis to ensure compliance with government contracting regulations. Apply accounting principles to evaluate financial data and ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting practices, trends, and regulatory requirements. Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed. Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance 3+ years of relevant Government Contracting Accounting experience 3+ years of relevant Payroll and Timesheet administration for a government contractor Proficient Microsoft Excel skills Ability to exercise discretion using professional judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field Proficiency with Costpoint software Experience with government contracting processes Strong project control and budgeting skills Ability to provide backup support for payroll and accounts payable Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Team player with the ability to help when needed Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to meet deadlines Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills Benefits
