About the Position The purpose of this position is to provide Project Management, day-to-day project guidance, and leadership to the Right-of-Way Agents in the Acquisition Division of the Real Estate Department and support the Right-of-Way Supervisor with the acquisition of required right-of-way and property rights for complex MCDOT Improvement Projects and Flood Control District Capital Projects.

We Require
Three years of experience as a Right-of-Way Agent or equivalent related experience in Project Development, property acquisition, negotiations, project coordination, right-of-way plan presentation, or title/escrow services for public agencies, public works, utilities, or quasi-public agencies
Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-to-year basis

Experience at a public agency performing the acquisition activities of real property rights
International Right-of-Way Association Designations (RWA, RWP, or SR/WA) preferred but not required
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
High-level organizational skills, excellent communication skills, customer service driven, and provides the ability to analyze information to provide a solution
Knowledge of Residential and Business Relocation is preferred
Job Contributions
Represent the Real Estate Department in meetings with partner departments serving as the Acquisition Project Coordinator/liaison from the conception of a project through the completion of the acquisition or disposition process
Performs extensive plan reviews during all phases of projects assigned and partners with the Project Team to resolve Real Estate concerns delineated by the Project design
Preparation of project acquisition scope, schedule, and project budget
Manage contract assignments for Appraisal Services, and Acquisition and Relocation Services
Coordinate construction and property owner concerns with the project team to provide reasonable solutions for all parties; regularly attend design and project meetings
Acquire a variety of land rights in high-level complex acquisition projects such as temporary entry, easements, permits, and fee-simple partial acquisitions
Plan and execute relocation assistance activities of a complex nature
Review and manage work product of professional services contracts for Acquisition and Relocation and provides guidance to consultants
Preparation of conveyance documents as but not limited to purchase agreements, Warranty Deeds, and Easements
Responsible for maintaining digital project files and up-to-date record keeping in the Acquisition database, throughout the duration of projects assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware Computer software literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, various database applications
Protective Equipment Required Hard hat, safety vests and steel toed boots - applicable on field visits that require exposure to traffic or construction sites
