Job Summary Napa Valley Independent Studies classroom is located on the American Canyon High School campus. This a part time position, working .60 FTE (Monday 10am-3pm, Tuesday-Friday 8am - 12pm).
Requirements / Qualifications Candidates need to have teaching experience at the high school level working with high-risk youth and diverse populations. Candidates must possess strong collaborative classroom management skills along with the ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom. To motivate reluctant learners, the candidate must be dynamic and compassionate. It is desired that candidates possess a working knowledge of alternative education teaching and classroom management strategies. NVIS encourages all teachers to become involved and participate in the school community, including leading professional development based on curricular strengths. Candidates must be CLAD certified or be qualified to obtain an Emergency CLAD permit. The successful candidates believe they can inspire academic and personal growth that prepares students for success in life.
