Bachelors Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning - Plans and coordinates the future state of the networks for information management. Designs network solutions that meet the information system vision and strategy of the organization; plans, prioritizes, and manages projects, service requests, and routine assignments. System Engineering - Analyzes network configurations for critical corporate resources; evaluates changes and additions for proposed system acquisitions and provides input relative to integration, operations, cost, resource requirements, and maintenance; develops plans and recommendations to improve performance and efficiency; addresses hardware, software, outside services, etc. and prevents unplanned disruptions. System Integration - Integrates network components, subsystems, and facilities into the existing technical environment; assesses network systems availability, bandwidth, and throughput; installs, configures, and verifies operation of network components; maintains or improves integration and operation; leads or participates in cross-system projects. System Management - Designs, implements, and oversees a proactive process to collect and report data and statistics; ensures systems operate efficiently and kept up-to-date with vendor updates; coordinates vendor support and monitors performance; provides training as needed. Training & Certification - Maintains in-depth knowledge and current certification in internetworking technologies. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field or equivalent experience (8 years) required. Extensive technical knowledge of Local Area Networks and Access Networks; advanced routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, iBGP, OSPF. Advanced knowledge of LAN redundancy (HSRP or CSM) and multiple layers of redundancy. Advanced knowledge in LAN protocol management (address management and network protocols). Experience with Aruba/Cisco routers, switches, WLAN; Firewalls, IPS; SD-WAN; F5; Wan Optimizers (Silver Peak); VOIP. Knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware; networking, server/host OS; IP networking; email and collaboration technologies. Eight years in large corporate systems environment; five years in network engineering, design, implementation and support of large scale LAN, WLAN and WANs. Healthcare systems experience is a plus.
