The Route Sales Representative (RSR) is responsible for ordering, sales, delivery, and merchandising of a slate of nationally- and locally-branded fresh baked products and for developing relationships with customers’ managers and other personnel. The position services a company route to retail customers, restaurants, and institutions to maximize sales opportunities by meeting customer expectations and following established practices. Position may require work outside standard hours, including weekends or holidays, and the incumbent should be eager to gain industry knowledge and learn the necessary skills for success. Responsibilities

Act as a sales associate and delivery driver to drive retail and territory sales. Leverage internal sales data and company marketing plans to grow with customers through proper planning, ordering, and execution. Establish and maintain strong customer relations to communicate sales solutions and improve customer satisfaction. Order product using an online order planner to ensure customers receive the freshest product. Increase sales through shelf space expansion and use of in-store promotions and displays. Follow the company route structure, stop sequence, and service times to drive efficiency and maintain service levels. Know and follow retailer/account standard operating procedures, including check-in/check-out and service windows. Adhere to fresh market policy by rotating product and removing damaged or out-of-code product as necessary. Follow shelf-life cycles of brands/products and maximize shelf life with proper rotation. Ensure backstock is rotated and stocked before next delivery is merchandized. Perform daily route settlement: verify product quantities, invoice accounts correctly, and follow cash collection policy. Conduct accurate weekly inventory in handheld devices at select accounts on designated days. Support introduction of new products to gain shelf space and promotional displays. Obtain authorization from accounts’ decision makers for promotional displays and place displays to maximize exposure. Review weekly route analysis to identify voids and sales opportunities; review KPIs to reduce cost and drive sales. Adhere to customer shelf schematics/planograms to meet brand objectives. Master the RSR training program practices. Must be able to obtain DOT medical certification to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). Must meet Fleet insurance guidelines related to MVR. Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle records; report maintenance issues and complete daily logs. Operate a vehicle with GVWR over 10,000 pounds safely and efficiently. Comply with company policies, DOT policies, and local and federal regulations. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and vehicle; secure and organize inventory to prevent damage. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (Safety, EEO, Harassment, Sarbanes–Oxley, etc.). Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year related experience in retail sales, DSD sales, and/or business-to-business sales. High school diploma or GED. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent total rewards package.
