Proliant Health & Biologicals (PHB) is seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This role is primarily located in Boone with time split in the Ankeny, Iowa office. The HR Coordinator provides hands-on support across recruitment, onboarding, employee data management, and engagement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and corporate office setting. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associates level degree in relevant field, as well as two years Human Resources Experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Working understanding of human resources principles, practices and procedures. Preferred Qualifications (if applicable): HRCI or SHRM certification preferred Experience with Workday HRIS preferred KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support recruitment efforts for manufacturing and support roles by posting jobs, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and assisting with offer documentation and pre-employment steps. Assist with onboarding to ensure a smooth transition for new employees into PHB’s culture, including completing I-9/E-Verify paperwork and preparing new-hire materials. Maintain accurate employee records and HR data in a confidential manner. Prepare regular metrics to track and identify relevant trends in turnover, quality of hire, overtime, etc. Provide courteous, timely support to employees’ questions about policies, processes, and benefits, escalating complex issues to the HR Director or site leadership as needed. Help coordinate employee recognition, engagement, and culture-building activities aligned with PHB’s values (Reliable, Resourceful, Innovative). Administer PHB Value’s Recognition Program. Assist in preparing or updating basic HR policies, forms, or training materials under the guidance of the HR Director. Track and compile information for routine HR metrics (headcount, turnover, training completion). Provide logistical support for meetings, surveys, and special events sponsored by HR. Partner with the HR Director and site leaders on projects aimed at improving processes, compliance, and employee experience. Assist in coordination of corporate events and provide administrative support to the HR Director and CEO as needed. All other duties or relevant projects as assigned. SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, from recordkeeping to written communication. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality. Highly self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and drive to make an immediate, positive contribution. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proactive problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable style. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems quickly. Ability to travel 10% annually to support various manufacturing and office locations.
