About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the accounting function for a growing mid-market specialty chemicals manufacturer based in Nashville, TN. This role offers high visibility, ownership of key accounting processes, and a clear career path to Accounting Manager as the company continues to scale.
What You’ll Do
Lead the month-end close: journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger and prepare accurate financial statements
Manage Accounts Receivable (payment posting, customer collections, aging analysis)
Oversee Accounts Payable (invoice processing, PO matching, payment runs)
Perform inventory and cost accounting; track variances and margins
Prepare financial and management reports, including variance analysis
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit schedules
Ensure tax compliance (sales/use tax, property tax, 1099s)
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales
Recommend and implement process improvements and ERP enhancements
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred)
4–7 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing or specialty chemicals experience preferred
Strong grasp of GAAP and cost accounting
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)
Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive
Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
