Overview
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for our Sarasota office. As part of our design and process teams, you will be involved with a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and/or support planning, design, permitting, and construction of water and wastewater-related projects including pumping, piping, and treatment facilities.
Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
Support coordination and collaboration with clients
Working with interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs
Support preparation of proposals and presentations
Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel
Required Qualifications
B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
Florida PE license (ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)
7-14 years of experience in the field of wastewater-related infrastructure, including project engineering/management (planning, design, and construction)
Experience in successfully delivering supporting projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
Self-starter with attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
