What you’ll get to do: Greet patients and families with a pleasant and helpful demeanor, provide clear instructions on procedures, and answer patient inquiries. Schedule patients for procedures and assist with clerical functions. Perform tasks related to operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated anatomical areas, adjusting equipment for proper exposure according to radiation safety guidelines. Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures. Prepare and dispense contrast media and barium. Ensure equipment is in working order and report any malfunctions to the supervisor. Evaluate studies for technical quality, collate processed images in proper order, and appropriately label them. Process related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Follow safety standards and use radiation protection when operating imaging equipment. Provide orientation and training to new technologists and student technologists. Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families. Lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds; assist in positioning patients. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
What you will need to be successful: Associate’s Degree from an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology. Licensed as a radiologic tech in the state of Florida. ARRT certification in Radiology (RT)(R) and BLS certification. One year of experience in radiologic imaging preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. Proficiency with X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures and protocols. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Experience with the use, QA, and troubleshooting of various types of radiologic equipment. Intermediate computer skills and navigation ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
