The State University of New York College of Optometry seeks a bright and highly motivated self-starter to oversee the planning, organization, creation, and publishing of digital and marketing content that supports the College’s brand, marketing strategy, and strategic initiatives across platforms. Housed within the marketing and communications team, this individual reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and partners with internal stakeholders, including IT, and external vendors to create and execute engaging content that aligns with the overall brand, enhances digital visibility and presence, ensures relevant and accurate content, and addresses the needs of various users. Additionally, this role will be a critical player in optimizing digital content, implementing SEO/SEM strategies, ensuring accessibility standards are met, and generating reports on key performance metrics. Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day content management of College websites; create and update content across a wide range of user needs; assist in the development, deployment, and/or integration of web-based applications; support digital advertising and marketing campaigns; collect and analyze metrics including Google Analytics, SEM/SEO, and other key performance indicators; maintain and uphold relevant policy, accessibility, and compliance documentation; ensure brand alignment across all webpages and digital channels; and identify and evaluate new digital communication tools and technologies. Serve as the primary point of contact for the content management system (CMS) and execute website updates from various stakeholders as the day-to-day manager of the websites. Implement digital content initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Communications. Identify opportunities for new and/or refreshed content that enhances marketing strategy and promotes positive brand positioning. Design, write, edit, and/or maintain engaging digital content across multiple platforms with an eye toward brand consistency, including tone, messaging, and style standards. Conduct regular content audits with stakeholders for timely updates; complete full reviews at least annually. Develop and publish content for target audiences; monitor performance indicators and ensure brand alignment. Assist in the development, deployment, and/or integration of web-based applications, particularly as they impact the website or digital marketing. Monitor website traffic and user engagement; analyze data with Google Analytics and generate reports to recommend improvements and strengthen brand health. Optimize content for SEO/SEM to improve visibility and drive traffic; collaborate with digital marketing and other vendors as needed. Review, revise, and document policies and user instructions; promote continuous improvement best practices. Collaborate with IT for multimedia integration and ongoing website maintenance to ensure function, standards, and accessibility. Ensure all digital content adheres to brand and style guidelines and WCAG accessibility standards. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or digital media and 2-3 years’ experience. Experience with digital content creation, web design, and multimedia production. Familiarity with SEO/SEM best practices, web analytics, UX/UI best practices. Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA). Understanding of digital advertising and execution of digital marketing campaigns. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate ideas into engaging content. Proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal). Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related web development standards. Experience with social media, APIs, and email marketing tools. Data-driven decision making with the ability to analyze metrics and optimize content. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-changing environment. Salary range is $55,000-$65,000 and there is also a generous benefit package. 15 days of annual leave to start and 13 paid holidays per year.
