Job Summary
We are seeking several highly skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineers, who like a fast-paced growing environment, to support the development and optimization of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes. This role bridges automation, reliability and innovation by creating solutions that enhance manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and food safety in the production environment--Focusing on innovative production equipment and drivinggreater efficiencies on our lines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Suggest and implement new ways to automate and improve Production
Support Production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies
Manage capacity addition, process improvement and / or equipment replacement projects to include project SCOPE
Design and implement improvements to enhance yield, reduce waste, increase throughputs, improve cycle times, reduce bottlenecks, and streamline operations while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Collaborates closely with project team to develop proposal of improvement initiatives including process, equipment and product improvements with relevant details such as scope of work, timelines.
Ensure that manufacturing cost standards are achieved through process optimization and improvement methods
Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies, RCA, FMEA
Support facility and production line enhancements
Support and develop department or maintenance projects / activities with good engineering direction.
Facilitate continuous improvement for all processes
Support and document all engineering changes
Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems
Support the optimization of maintenance programs and practices
Food Safety Responsibilities
Consider sanitary design, based on industry standards, e.g. 3A
Participate in RCA / CAPA investigations as needed, in the event of food safety and/or quality issues
Follow systemwide GMPs as required of all JP personnel
Consider potential failure modes and define mitigations (FMEA)
Minimum Qualifications
Engineering degree required – Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred
1-2 years of experience in a food production environment
Experience/education with a focus in one or more of the below
fluid dynamics
mixing systems
heat exchange systems
automation controls
Robotics
PLC, Solid Works, CAD Design
Solid ability to understand, build and fix automation in food or medical manufacturing equipment.
Must be an organized, self-motivated person who can work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Technical abilities include knowledge of trouble shooting with in areas of mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics and fabrication.
Must be familiar with GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and QC standards required in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Adaptable, resilient, flexible, fast-paced/sense of urgency
Expected Pay Range
90,000-110,000
Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form on bonuses and/or commissions.
