DESCRIPTION
The ED Tech works as a team member in assigned area to assist with vital signs, performing EKGs, assist in ADLs, stock supplies, utilizes safe patient handling to reposition and transport patients, provide comfort measures, and assist with patient care under the direct supervision of the RN. The ED Tech also collects and document patient care data, applies cardiac monitor device, transports laboratory specimens, assist the nurse and physician with procedures, and performs secretarial duties as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in an emergency department, inpatient unit, pre-hospital, acute care, or comparable settings.
Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EMT and/or CNA certification.
Bilingual in both Spanish and English.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
This is a night Per Diem Position only. Must be able to work in ED Inpatient Area of the Emergency Department Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Must be able to work at both UCSD Hillcrest and La Jolla hospitals. Employees will float between the Emergency Department and Inpatient Transition departments. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $67,756 - $67,756 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $32.45 - $32.45 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
