Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or MACC a plus) Active CPA certification (required) 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, and experience in a retail automotive controller role preferred Deep understanding of dealership accounting, financial operations, and internal controls Expert-level proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting Proficient with Tekion and Microsoft Excel Proven success leading accounting teams in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment Demonstrated experience as a Change Agent, driving process improvements, system upgrades, and operational transformation Proven ability to serve as a Financial Facilitator, partnering with operational leaders to guide decision-making, budgeting, and profitability Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
Lead all dealership accounting functions, technical accounting functions, internal financial reporting, external financial reporting, and several direct reports Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP and Manufacturer requirements Partner with CFO, Owners, Store Directors, and department leaders to support operational and financial goals Support and develop a team of accounting managers and staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment Oversee cash flow, bank reconciliations, floor plan management, and overall treasury functions Maintain robust internal controls across all locations to ensure accuracy and safeguard company assets Support audit preparation, tax filings, and compliance-related activities Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and reduce closing timelines Leverage Tekion for reporting, integration, and optimization of financial operations Preferred Attributes
