Overview
Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning leads enterprise-level planning strategy and execution across multiple U.S. manufacturing sites to ensure reliable, cost-effective flow of materials and components that support Virginia Transformer’s on-time delivery and growth objectives. This role synchronizes demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory optimization across the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with strong business acumen, deep manufacturing expertise, and the ability to drive standardization and process excellence in a high-mix, engineer-to-order environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead and mature the end-to-end supply chain planning function, integrating demand, supply, and production plans across all VTC facilities. Partner with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Procurement to align customer forecasts with production and material requirements. Develop and maintain enterprise Master Production Schedules (MPS) and Material Requirements Plans (MRP) to support throughput and profitability. Oversee planning analytics to identify and mitigate bottlenecks, shortages, and capacity constraints. Lead a high-performing team of planners and analysts, fostering professional development and cross-plant collaboration. Implement best-in-class planning processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and SIOP methodologies. Drive data integrity and ERP accuracy, ensuring timely and reliable information for decision-making. Develop and report KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), Forecast Accuracy, Schedule Adherence, and Inventory Turns, establishing corrective action plans as needed. Partner with Finance and Operations to align supply chain plans with cost, cash flow, and revenue objectives. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance agility, reduce lead times, and improve customer satisfaction. Serve as the corporate planning liaison to leadership, standardizing tools, templates, and processes across all plants. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business; Master’s preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or production planning, ideally in electrical manufacturing, heavy industry, or engineered-to-order products. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional planning teams in a multi-site manufacturing environment. Strong command of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI). Proven ability to drive results through SIOP or IBP (Integrated Business Planning). Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred. Core Competencies
