This advertisement is for a Clinical Counselor position(s) located at Correctional Training Facility, in Soledad, CA, located in Monterey County. Job Description and Duties It is a 12‑month limited term, may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. The Clinical Counselor (CC) works under the direction of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, within Medical Services, Integrated Care & Complex Patient Populations Division. The CC applies counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license, for treating incarcerated individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and fostering preventative skills and behaviors. The CC performs assessments that facilitate transitional care planning and coordination linking incarcerated patients with resources.

Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling or psychotherapy and meeting the requirements stipulated in Business and Professional Code 4999.32. Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Candidates who do not qualify for licensure may be admitted to the examination and can be appointed but must secure a valid license within four years of appointment; employment is contingent on licensure plus one year of eligibility.

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking California‑licensed clinical social workers to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT). This newly‑created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance. ISUDT staff are committed to providing optimal care, promoting patients’ successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism.

Salary Ranges Range Q (Licensed): $8,133.00 - $10,378.00
