Job Summary Working as a

Regional Director of Operations (RDO) , you will lead, manage, and inspire a team of District Managers and other leaders within your region. You will be part of the regional leadership team and provide planning, direction, and guidance to the accounts in your territory, while establishing and maintaining strong client relationships. Your goal is to achieve operational and financial goals in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team of District Managers, Resident District Managers, and Directors of Dining Services.

Drive the team toward building strong relationships with clients at all levels and achieving KPIs such as profitability, safety, and engagement.

Serve on the regional leadership team; communicate regularly with peers to share best practices and mitigate risks.

Own all accounts within the assigned territory, ensuring effective communication with key partners.

Support the RVP in setting the cultural tone in the region and meet regularly with the extended team to ensure transparency and alignment.

Act as the brand ambassador of the Chartwells team to senior clients in the territory and serve as an escalation point.

Work with the regional team to ensure the Sales and Retention process is smooth for all accounts.

Collaborate with key partners to support regional initiatives.

Ensure compliance with QA, policy, and USDA program requirements and complete all reporting on time.

Champion development within the region, conducting performance evaluations and succession planning with a focus on building multi‑unit management skills.

Own the financial results/P&L for the assigned territory and work with the leadership team to ensure accuracy for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures.

Recognize and anticipate marketplace trends; participate in regional strategic planning meetings.

Extensive travel required in this position.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or eight (8) years of progressive experience in multi‑unit foodservice, hospitality management, plant operations management, environmental services, laundry distribution, or other support services areas in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong background in senior leadership roles with exposure to contract/budget management, customer service, people development, food services, negotiations, etc.

Proven track record of growing a business and leading teams with strong financial acumen.

Ability to think quickly, analytically, strategically, and accurately.

Expert client relationship, influencing, listening, and communication skills.

Champions an inclusion mindset and is proactive, positive, professional, flexible, and resilient.

Demonstrates initiative, ownership, multi‑tasking, prioritization, and organization skills.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.
