Creighton Prep is seeking an Assistant Director of Development to join its Advancement Team as a key contributor to the school’s philanthropic growth. This position is ideal for a mission-driven fundraising professional with 3–5 years of experience in development or demonstrated success in sales or business development. The Assistant Director will focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding new leadership annual gifts ($2,500+) and major gifts ($25,000+), with a particular emphasis on building relationships that support scholarships, the AMDG Fund and other strategic initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Advancement, the Assistant Director will manage a portfolio of donors and prospects and play a critical role in expanding Creighton Prep’s base of philanthropic support. The role offers meaningful engagement with alumni, parents, and friends of the school in support of Creighton Prep’s Jesuit mission to form “men for others.”
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of approximately 100–125 alumni, parents, and friends with a focus on securing leadership annual gifts and major gifts, including support for scholarships, capital projects, and other school priorities. Identify and cultivate new donor relationships through personal outreach including in-person visits, calls, emails, and event attendance. Conduct 10 overnight trips per year (2–3 nights each) to visit prospects and attend regional alumni or donor events. Collaborate with Advancement leadership to develop individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies for assigned prospects. Assist with the execution of the AMDG Fund, including support for annual giving campaigns, One Day. One Prep., BASH and special initiatives. Partner with Prospect Development and Donor Relations staff to ensure timely and effective donor stewardship. Maintain accurate and timely records of prospect interactions in the school’s CRM system. Represent Creighton Prep at school-wide events such as Sports Night, Reunion Weekend, BASH and other community gatherings. Stay informed of fundraising best practices and participate in ongoing professional development. Perform other duties as assigned to support Advancement goals. Qualifications
3–5 years of fundraising or sales/business development experience with a proven track record of relationship-building and securing commitments. Experience in securing leadership-level gifts or comparable business outcomes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust and rapport across diverse constituencies. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Jesuit, Catholic education and alignment with the mission of Creighton Prep. Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and digital fundraising platforms preferred. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed, and to travel up to 10 times per year for donor meetings and events. Compensation and Benefits
