Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director is a senior‑level position responsible for managing and overseeing organizational efforts to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with environmental regulations. This role requires a combination of strategic vision and hands‑on implementation to build a culture of safety and environmental stewardship at all Coim USA locations. The Director will work closely with department leaders to develop, implement, and sustain EHS programs, policies, and procedures that protect the workforce and the environment. EHS leadership is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Integral part of the company’s operations leadership team with responsibility in all aspects of environmental, health, and safety at all Coim USA sites.

Establish, track, and report on EHS metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Develop, implement, and optimize a world‑class, comprehensive EHS management system.

Build relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, and executive leadership while developing a pro‑active EHS culture.

Plan and implement environmental programs and prepare/submits environmental reports in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring all reporting is completed and submitted on time to respective regulatory agencies.

Responsible for all aspects of environmental compliance, including hazardous waste, storm water, air and wastewater, industrial hygiene, Process Safety Management, and occupational health program, emergency response, LOTO.

Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Conduct risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and gap analysis to identify EHS risks and non‑compliance issues.

Manage and direct all aspects of the safety program including training activities, safety committee management, process safety initiatives, and incident investigations.

Maintain safety related systems in the facilities including fire protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), uniforms, first aid supplies, etc.

Oversee the administration of the workers’ compensation program for all Coim USA sites.

Identify and suggest corrective measures to improve the site's accident experience and to implement means to achieve site EHS goals. Lead investigations of incidents and work to determine and implement effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.

Interact with EHS regulatory agencies during site inspections.

Maintain EHS files and records.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, coach, manage, and lead a team of junior EHS professionals, setting goals and establishing deadlines.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE, SKILLSET

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational safety, engineering, or related field.

10+ years of experience in an EHS role, with 5+ years in a leadership position; experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Extensive knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance standards.

Proven track record of successful EHS program development and implementation.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Experience with sustainability and environmental impact assessments.

Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Proven experience with industrial hygiene, workers’ compensation, accident investigations, and regulatory compliance and reporting.

Articulate communicator and trainer who possesses excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

Strong team focus and interpersonal skills to interface cross‑functionally.

Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and follow through.

Ability to stay focused in a fast‑paced environment.
