Overview
Position: Housekeeping Inspector Reports To: Executive Housekeeper, Assistant General Manager, General Manager Position Summary: The Housekeeping Inspector supports the housekeeping leadership team by ensuring that guest rooms and public areas consistently meet Ivy Hospitality’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance. This role inspects completed work, assists with training and coaching room attendants, and helps coordinate the timely return of clean rooms for guest use. The Housekeeping Inspector helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment that reflects Ivy’s commitment to care, connection, and exceptional hospitality. Responsibilities
Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet company cleanliness, maintenance, and setup standards. Personally inspect a set number of rooms daily, ensuring quality in all areas including bedding, floors, furniture, fixtures, amenities, and bathrooms. Verify that rooms are properly stocked with linens and guest supplies according to brand and company standards. Check public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and stairwells to confirm cleanliness and presentation. Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly. Support the Housekeeping Supervisor and Executive Housekeeper in coordinating daily room assignments and status updates. Work alongside room attendants during high-occupancy periods to ensure rooms are cleaned and released on time for arrivals. Coach and train housekeeping associates to ensure consistent quality and adherence to Ivy standards. Maintain communication with the Front Desk and Engineering teams to ensure timely responses to guest or maintenance needs. Ensure all storage closets and housekeeping carts are clean, stocked, and organized. Handle and secure guest room keys properly, following all safety and security policies. Follow procedures for handling “lost and found” items and ensuring guest privacy. Support the department in completing special cleaning projects, deep cleans, and audits as needed. Demonstrate teamwork by assisting in other housekeeping functions when needed. Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of three years of housekeeping experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role. Strong attention to detail with a passion for quality and guest satisfaction. Ability to lead and motivate a team, with minimal direct supervision. Basic computer skills. In-depth knowledge of hotel services and facilities. Ability to stand and walk for nearly 100% of the working day. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and occasionally push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs. Must have manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment and perform cleaning/inspection tasks.
