THE POSITION Reporting organisationally to the local Host City Director, the Host City Coordinator will be a key member of the FIFA26 Host Cities team, and work in close collaboration with the larger on‑site local FWC26 team and other key individuals responsible for delivering support to the Host City Director and larger on‑site local team in day‑to‑day planning and execution of FIFA and Host City obligations.
Operational Support
Work closely with on-the-ground team to guide new hires through processes and priorities.
Assist in the preparation of briefings, meeting notes, and presentations.
Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure smooth office operations and a well‑functioning workspace environment.
Help facilitate staff communications related to office use, policies, and workspace updates.
Track and maintain records related to workforce movements, access credentials, and space utilization.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Liaise with local FWC26 team members within the Host City, Host City Committee, and external stakeholders (e.g., venue authorities, transport, security, and community partners, etc.) to assist in advanced planning.
Take a big picture perspective to spot and elevate issues early, supporting timely solutions.
Contractual Commitments Tracking
Work with the central Host City Management Team to ensure that the status of Host City deliverables is up to date.
Capture and inform the Host City Director and central Host City Management Team of any upcoming events and/or meetings taking place within the Host City.
Reporting & Communication
Compile, update, and distribute regular reports on Host City progress to FIFA and local organizing teams as needed.
Develop Monday.com dashboards, timelines, and status updates to provide visibility across FWC26 team members and projects.
Support creation of executive‑level updates for local host city meetings/workshops, and Host Committee sessions.
Event Readiness
Assist FWC26 Functional Areas with local site visit planning, logistics coordination, and stakeholder scheduling.
Contribute to operational readiness exercises, simulations, and pre‑tournament exercises.
Tournament Time
Serve as on‑site support for the Host City Director across multiple venues, moving quickly between sites as operational needs arise.
Provide coverage, administrative and logistical support across integrated command centre structure as needed and/or instructed.
YOUR PROFILE Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or similar level of education.
Detail‑oriented with a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
Strong collaborator who thrives in a cross‑functional and multicultural environment.
Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
Driven by teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Work Experience
2‑3 years of professional experience in project management, event operations, or large‑scale sports/entertainment events.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to track deliverables.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com and Microsoft Office Suite).
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and multitask.
Passion for football/sport and enthusiasm for contributing to the success of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Languages
Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus.
Technology
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
In accordance with Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. This estimate is based on this position being performed in Washington, and the range may not apply to similar positions in other locations. In determining actual base pay, FIFA 26 considers candidate education, experience, and other job‑related factors allowed by law. An employee’s position within the salary range will be determined by various factors, including relevant education, experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, geographic location, performance metrics, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business needs.
Additionally, FIFA 26 offers a competitive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
