Sr. Benefits Specialist
in Waltham, MA. In this position, you will be responsible for the administration and compliance for health and welfare benefit programs.
Major duties
Responsible for administration and compliance for health and welfare benefit programs.
Ensures compliance with governmental regulations related to benefit programs and labor law, including ERISA and HIPAA and required state notices; stays up to date on existing laws and updated requirements.
Responsible for execution of compliance-related activities such as health and welfare 5500 filing, Affordable Care Act reporting, required Internal Revenue Code testing for health and welfare plans, managing tax implications for benefits, etc.
Oversees benefits and wellness-related communications and initiatives.
Serves as primary contact for employees for complex benefit issues.
Interprets benefits policies for employees and provides guidance as appropriate.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
8-10 years of progressive benefits administration experience preferred.
Significant experience with HR systems; Oracle HRMS experience preferred.
Advanced Excel (PivotTables, V‑Lookups) and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to explain processes and policies effectively.
Experience partnering with internal communications team and delivering content across various communication modes.
Strong working knowledge and experience with benefits regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, required annual filings, non-discrimination testing), federal and state laws.
Must be able to set priorities and juggle several tasks within a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with a positive attitude.
The successful individual will be able to alter priorities in a continually changing environment, the ability to communicate those changes and bring issues to a quick and solid resolution.
Good judgment in resolving issues, the ability to maintain confidential information, the ability to work independently to achieve results, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required.

Rate: $60.00/hour
W2 Contract
