Description Job Overview:

The position of

Lifestyle Manager

is a key position within a dynamic team serving one of the premier Master Planned housing communities in the nation. The right candidate will be an independent self‑starter and will be curious and able to perform research to find creative solutions to complex challenges. The individual holding this position is responsible for promoting and demonstrating the SAMLARC community vision of enhancing neighbor‑to‑neighbor positive interaction by building community spirit and providing opportunities for the community to connect. This position is responsible for the implementation, coordination and oversight of creative, customized recreational programming, community events, sponsorships/partnership programs and community volunteer programs.

Compensation:

$70‑80k (Salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities and may be adjusted in the future).

Job Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate and implement customized intimate and large‑scale community events specific to youth, families and adults that encourages neighbor‑to‑neighbor interactions, creating a unique lifestyle for the residents.

Research, develop and coordinate recreational programs and classes of interest to the residents working with various community organizations so as not to duplicate services.

Monitor and update the master community event and activities calendar as needed and ensure accuracy for posting on the community monitors and website.

Provide community events /activities and recreational programs content for website updates, e‑blasts, newsletter and social media platforms.

Provide support to the Community Lifestyle Committee by preparing meeting packets and reports, as well as implementation of the initiatives approved by each Committee.

Work collaboratively with the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, Rancho Santa Margarita Chamber of Commerce and various community organizations and partners to tap resources that will provide added value to the event activities.

Oversee Lifestyle branding, content and media strategies.

Identify, ensure approval, hire, and oversee performance of all vendors for events and programs in accordance with the documented Community Programs strategic plan, including review of all vendor invoices prior to payment.

Oversight and maintenance of a vendor database and development of positive working relationships with all community event vendors.

Ensure accurate documentation for all community event and recreational program plans, vendor contacts, budgets, event summary reports, etc.

Ensure approved vendors are compliant with insurance requirements and provide oversight of all vendors for events and programs to include review of all vendor invoices prior to payment.

Development of positive working relationships with all community events and 3rd party recreation vendors holding them accountable for excellent services to the residents.

Create and implement survey tools and processes to identify resident interest for community event activities and recreational programs.

Monitor monthly expenditures of all programming (community events, activities and recreational programs) to ensure management of expenses, accurate coding and compliance to budget limits.

Attend and participate in SAMLARC Board of Director meetings as required.

Develop creative and customized community special events, programs and recreational classes including resident engagement and volunteer activities to enhance the lifestyle experience of the residents.

Skills & Qualifications

To promote and demonstrate the Rancho Santa Margarita (SAMLARC) community vision of intergenerational interaction through community lifestyle events and programs.

Public charisma and ability to develop positive relationships with diverse groups.

Strong administrative skills to include organizational, prioritization and time‑management skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively multi‑task.

Strong ethical practices.

Budgetary knowledge and control for the purpose(s) of executing community events, programs and communication expenses.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and implement the ideas of the team.

Ability to think and work independently with self‑direction to ensure success as a team.

Use of good judgment, critical thinking and business “savvy”.

Must be literate and articulate in written form in order to prepare correspondence.

Must be able to handle pressure and deadlines related to the job.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in English.

Bilingual Spanish helpful.

Excellent general math skills.

Education & Experience

Possesses a minimum of a 4‑year college degree, preferably in the field of recreation, community events management or hospitality.

Committed to continual learning as evidenced by attendance at seminars, industry programs, either as an attendee or as a guest speaker.

2‑4 years’ experience in the events/recreation field, city government community services, and/or community management field.

Proven track record for fundraising and/or sponsorships and proven track record working with Volunteer Committees.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide oversight of all event and program vendors and day‑to‑day supervision of one full‑time Community Lifestyle Coordinator.

Supervise and train all onsite associates as necessary; monitor sub‑contractors in the areas of performance, contract compliance, work orders, supply purchases, safety and security.

Prepare and/or oversee the preparation and conduct of all performance reviews as required.

Enforce all applicable safety, health and environmental regulations.

Supervise and/or oversee the supervision of contractual agreements with vendors and contractors.

Ensure, receive and approve service requests and related work orders, in accordance with established procedures.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment

Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a desk.

Must be mobile enough to move around office.

Consistent and regular attendance required.

Travel

Possess dependable transportation, a valid California State Driver’s License, and the state mandated vehicle insurance.
