Amazon is searching for an innovative and solutions‑oriented Technical Infrastructure Program Manager who is able to collaborate effectively with internal and external technical teams and be responsible for the design, development and deployment of our material handling systems across multiple building types. The role primarily focuses on the Technical Infrastructure Program Management of integrating complex and systemic technical products and solutions that enable our customer base to work more efficiently.

Key Job Responsibilities

Drive the technical strategy for a material handling equipment lifecycle organization in partnership with WWDE, Operations Engineering and strategic suppliers.

Lead program management of multiple large, complex programs; single‑threaded leadership across engineering teams, operations and RME partners.

Define program scope, technical and business requirements, and communicate them to design, engineering and field teams.

Evaluate solutions, balance business value against technology risk, and decide on technology viability.

Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center leadership and stakeholders across maintenance, industrial, and process engineering.

Communicate program status to senior leaders and influence cross‑functional priorities.

Develop standards and drive consistent application of engineering changes across North America.

Generate multiyear budgets and manage program lifecycle from concept through deployment.

Travel up to 50% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.

Qualifications

Experience in design/innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process or industrial engineering.

Experience managing engineering design projects and leading cross‑functional teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (advanced degree is a plus).

Experience integrating material handling equipment and conveyor control systems.

Knowledge of cross‑belt sorters and complex material handling systems.

Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or equivalent.

Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement experience.

Experience working with material handling OEMs and integration partners.

Track record of establishing standardized processes and playbooks.

Experience scaling technical project delivery organizations.

Strong problem‑solving, communication and analytical skills.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

A Day in the Life You will work with internal customers across multiple organizations to define ambiguous problem statements, influence a global Amazon team, write technical specifications, perform technical evaluations, and develop business requirements. You’ll manage multiple large, high visibility programs simultaneously through the project lifecycle while driving standardization initiatives, communicating status to senior leaders and ensuring resources are aligned with the most impactful projects.
