We know the last three years have been challenging. Being a nurse educator can provide more balance in your life and allow you to refresh your perspective by engaging with students who seek your knowledge and wisdom. Essential Duties Teaching & Learning

Facilitate quality student learning by teaching assigned courses. Teach nursing content, assess student learning, assign grades, and support student engagement and advising. Utilize innovative, evidence-based teaching and learning strategies, including the use of technology such as learning management systems, email, and Microsoft Office Suite. Collaboratively design assigned courses with colleagues, industry experts, instructional designers, and administration. Ensure alignment with approved student learning outcomes and university requirements. Include strategies that promote active and effective student learning.

Curriculum & Program Development

Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, academic reviews, and accreditation efforts as assigned. Contribute to shared governance within the College of Nursing and the University.

Professionalism & Collegiality

Demonstrate a professional, positive, and collegial demeanor in interactions with students, colleagues, and the CSP community. Contribute to a team of nurse educators focused on student success through continuous quality improvement and coaching.

Service & Scholarship

Attend faculty meetings and professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay current in the field. Provide service to the university and discipline, as appropriate to the faculty role. Pursue a scholarly agenda relevant to the discipline and aligned with faculty responsibilities.

Administrative & Institutional Responsibilities

Participate in the annual nursing faculty retreat, which may require travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, Portland, Oregon, or Greenwood Village, Colorado. Follow the policies and procedures of the College of Nursing, academic unit, and the University. Perform other job-related duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean. Assume other responsibilities as requested by the Department Chair or Dean.
