Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting an Assistant Front Office Manager to join the hotel’s opening team. An art‑deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid‑Beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean‑view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor‑to‑ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full‑service spa, a well‑equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who’s who of Miami. Position Summary The Assistant Front Office Manager is responsible for supporting the supervision of Front Office. Key responsibility areas include department performance, staff training, staff development, cost control, and increased sales and profitability.

Position Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Deliver excellent customer service in an efficient manner.

Maintain guest room inventory based on established SOPs.

Coach and counsel employees, and provide progressive and ongoing training.

Ensure cash handling and all accounting policies and procedures are being followed to hotel policy.

Maintain consistent and efficient line of communication between appropriate departments.

Analyze, investigate, and resolve guest opportunities.

Confers with all appropriate departments regarding handling of groups, unusual circumstances or special requests.

Coordinate the status of Out of Order and Out of Services rooms with Housekeeping and Engineering.

Respond to special requests with unique needs and follow up with the guest or vendor to ensure satisfaction.

Gather, summarize, and provide information about the amenities, specials, events, and activities taking place within the hotel.

Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

Complete and process all employee payroll punches.

Review and note all special requests of guests.

Ensure all front office employees are completing all assigned tasks and checklists.

Take, record, and relay messages and notes accurately, completely, and legibly.

Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments and personnel.

Provide assistance to all front office staff when needed.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism Management or a relevant field.

Luxury hotel or resort experience required.

Forbes Four or Five Star experience preferred.

2 years or more of progressive hotel rooms management experience (typically with Hyatt).

Ability to speak a second language fluently will be considered an asset.

Good working knowledge of Reserve/Opera software.

Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications.

Refined verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekends, holidays, overnight shifts.

Physically agile, ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Excellent problem‑solving skills.

Well‑groomed, professional appearance.

Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
