Overview
The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced
Asset Renewal Office Engineer
to join our aviation team in Los Angeles County. The Asset Renewal Office Engineer will oversee the administrative processes and construction requirements of multiple small projects at the same time. The Asset Renewal Program replaces end-of-life airport assets, primarily MEP fire and security systems, vertical and horizontal transportation systems, building enclosure assemblies, below-grade utility systems, baggage systems, and passenger boarding bridges. Essential Job Duties
Experience with the design and construction industries, administrative processes and requirements. Must have experience with payment applications, including quantity dispute resolution. Must have excellent skills in documentation and file organization and maintenance. Experience reviewing RFIs. Experience reviewing submittals for compliance with the Contract Documents. Experience and proficiency in reading design drawings and specifications. Able to communicate and interact with the other members of the Asset Renewal team and LAWA departments, City Depts., contractors and Airlines. Available to work modified schedule as construction activities require. Experience with starting up a project and onboarding the contractor or design-builders. Experience closing out projects, including: operations and maintenance manuals, payment releases, punch-list documentation and closeout, final pay applications, warranty and training requirements, etc. May be called upon to take meeting-minutes and distribute to attendees. Support the Construction Manager and Program Manager in other tasks and duties. Experience constructing work on an occupied and operating campus. Coordinate and implement Area Shutdown Requests (ASRs) and Utility Shutdown Requests (USRs). Should have experience working on phased and complex Public Agency projects in an occupied setting. May assume other duties as required/needed. May work overtime May be required to work various shifts as needed Aviation experience preferred Professional Experience Level / Other Qualifications
10+ years of experience in managing the design of small and medium complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projects. Experience with projects more than $25 million in value. Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities. Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds. Must be detail oriented and highly organized. Education / Training
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related industry experience. Hardware / Software Knowledge
Excellent knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficiency in Bluebeam or other PDF programs Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems Ability to work in CAD or REVIT a plus Salary Range: $122,000-$127,000 Medical, Vision, & Dental – 100% covered for the employee* Life and Disability Insurance 10.5 days of Vacation pay (Accrued) 6 days of Sick pay (Available Immediately) 10 days of Holiday pay (9 Holidays, 1 Personal Day) 3% Employer Contribution 401k (After 1 year of service) Monthly Stipend for Cell Phone Laptop for work purposes
