Overview
FACULTY POSITIONS MALIGNANT HEMATOLOGY and MEDICAL ONCOLOGY UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan is embarking on a major expansion of its clinical and research services. As part of Michigan Medicine, the Division provides expert hematology/oncology care to a large and diverse patient population across Southern Michigan. We seek to recruit faculty interested in developing their career in a vibrant academic environment that is committed to integrating outstanding and compassionate clinical cancer care with basic, translational, and clinical research. Priority areas in Malignant Hematology include Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma, Myeloproliferative neoplasms, and Cellular therapy. Priority areas in Medical Oncology are Breast cancer and Cancer Genetics, Genitourinary malignancies, Melanoma, and Thoracic oncology. Each new faculty will join a specialized multidisciplinary team of clinicians, translational researchers, and physician scientists that is supported by nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Providers have access to exceptional pathology, radiology, radiation oncology and other subspecialty services. About the Division and Mission
With over 240 faculty and staff, Hematology/Oncology is the second largest Division in the Department of Internal Medicine. We collaborate closely with the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center whose catchment area includes the entire State of Michigan. Our shared mission is to improve the outcome of patients with cancer and hematologic disorders in Michigan, the US and worldwide. The responsibilities of this position may include in-person and telehealth clinics, inpatient hematology or bone marrow transplant services, development and conduct of clinical trials, as well as educating medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications
Experience in clinical trials, particularly investigator-initiated studies, is highly desired but not required. Candidates must be board-certified/eligible and hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of Michigan. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding and compassionate clinician who seeks to provide expert oncology care in a dynamic and expanding health care system with a strong commitment to scientific inquiry.
