We are looking for a Licensed Architect who thrives on independence, precision, and purpose. In this role you will evaluate, select, and apply proven architectural techniques while exercising your own judgment to solve real‑world design challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead the team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.

Establish, maintain and adhere to project budget and schedule.

Supervise preparation of technical drawings by less senior architects or professionals.

Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.

Ensure construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and HOK Best Practice standards.

Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.

Mentor and direct less experienced staff, conduct professional development and lessons learned sessions.

Foster and maintain a collaborative professional relationship with the Project Leadership Team.

Ensure the overall strategy for document production and data organization is followed, including BIM integration.

Ensure HOK document standards are met and documents are appropriately archived.

Set up project team software parameters and manage standards.

Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.

Client Interface

Communicate with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews, and delivery of final presentation.

Teamwork

Analyze and develop approaches to the creation and modification of architectural documents, ensuring design intent is incorporated.

Provide technical resolution and coordination for defined portions of a project.

Develop solutions to design problems.

Correct and update working design documents with minor adaptations.

Attend on‑site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, and manage schedules, shop drawings, and samples.

Communicate with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to incorporate all information into project requirements and provide support as necessary.

Perform product research; assist project designers with material selection and system research.

Coordinate with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, respond to RFI, clarifications, and modifications, and obtain approvals.

Write reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions.

Review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for coordination.

Participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues and technical coordination.

Participate in project reviews regarding costs, budgets, and adherence to schedule.

Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally at all times, with regular client interface.

Apply proper QA/QC methods throughout the project; may lead this effort.

Provide support to all team members for specific market, discipline, or area of expertise.

Assist in construction administration document management.

Assist Project Manager in defining project work plans.

Prepare meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required; Master’s degree preferred.

5+ years’ experience.

Licensed Architect with current registration in your region required.

NCARB registration preferred.

LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
