$150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is evolving to support decarbonization and energy transition targets. Transmission planners play a critical role in shaping the grid of the future, including support for large loads such as data centers. Responsibilities
Perform a variety of steady-state and transient power system studies. Participate in meetings with utilities as part of project delivery or business development. Lead or support projects through the full lifecycle: technical bid/proposal, execution, reports, client meetings/presentations, and close-out. Collaborate with team members across North America and globally. Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other technical committees; stay up to date with latest standards and requirements. What you’ll need
Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering from a recognized institution. Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD. Strong background with at least one system operator: ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, or IESO. Up-to-date knowledge of NERC, FERC, and NPCC reliability standards. Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability and willingness to travel within North America. Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Direct experience with National Grid and/or Eversource. Experience with large loads such as data centers. Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) License. Additional information
