Ring Product Operations team is looking for an individual who wants to work on a business that is growing at a rapid pace. We are a critical part of the hardware development and product launch process. We ensure successful fulfillment for product launches and ongoing support, grow the capabilities of our current systems and supply chain to meet our needs, and drive continuous improvement for the company.
As a Senior Operations Program Manager (OPM) for Ring, you are the focal representation of everything Operations and Supply Chain related. You will orchestrate plans and drive solutions for Ring business teams.
As a Sr. Operations Program Manager, you will engage with experienced cross‑disciplinary teams to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You’ll work closely with a team of business development, engineering, manufacturing and supply‑chain experts to deliver a world‑class product at the right quantity, cost, and quality to Ring’s customers. Experience in new product development, contract manufacturing management, cross‑functional core‑team engagement, planning for delivery and working in a high‑paced environment is a must.
Key job responsibilities
Manage product cost and drive cost reductions through negotiations with suppliers
Manage efforts to localize sourcing and qualify key BOM components to reduce inbound logistics costs and diversify supply chain
Collaborate with Device Global Logistics (DGL) to create innovative material shipping options with improved efficiency
Work with engineering and the supply‑chain team to set program cost targets at a commodity level for your project
Track the program actual costs versus target to identify deltas and corrective actions to bring the program back on track
Establish and execute operations strategies and plans
Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing activities in support of company goals and objectives
Lead cross‑functional teams in factory readiness of high‑volume product launches till the end of product life
Use statistical techniques to verify the effectiveness of team‑generated solutions
Ensure quality of work through all phases of production
Build strong relationships within Ring and with CM partners
Ensure compliance with corporate social standards
A day in the life The position is for a talented and highly motivated Sr. Materials and Operations Program Manager in Product Operations supporting Ring located in the United States. This program manager will be responsible for the quality, cost and delivery of market‑leading and high‑impact products at contract manufacturer (CM) site.
About the team The Sr. OPM role reports into the Product Operations Organization. A global product‑focused organization responsible for coordinating program‑specific activities related to cost, supply chain and manufacturing across different functional areas with the objective of creating products that make neighborhoods safer.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum ten (10) years program or factory material and operations experience in a manufacturing environment or working with CM partners
High‑level leadership and decision‑making skills
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills in English (Mandarin, Spanish a plus)
Knowledgeable in lean methodology and demonstrated ability in goal setting
Good negotiation skills and program management in supply chain and operations
Proven track record implementing quality programs with a spirit of continuous improvement
Ability to implement robust corrective actions using 8D format
Good vision, analytical, process‑oriented and strong problem‑solving skills
Detailed knowledge of product development processes as well as a strong understanding of manufacturing and supplier processes
Experience managing BOM cost and driving product cost reductions through negotiations and component qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
Experience in lean manufacturing and experience planning, budgeting and tracking capex, opex, equipment and fixtures, and tooling
Be able to report on site performance against goals
