Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an Ecological Senior Project Manager to lead and help grow our Ecological Practice in our St. Charles, Missouri office. Companywide, the Ecological Practice provides approximately 10% of our annual revenues, making it an essential part of the integrated services that we offer to our clients.

CEC’s Ecological Practice distinguishes itself from the service offerings of other firms because of the breadth of our technical expertise that includes wetland and stream assessments, delineations, and mitigation design; Section 401/404 permitting; endangered species surveys, including bats and plants; Endangered Species Act strategy and compliance, ecosystem restoration; wildlife surveys, NEPA documentation; and habitat assessments.

You will be responsible for developing business for CEC through your existing network and internal CEC resources. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, driven, and enthusiastic biologist who enjoys managing people and projects, as well as collaborating across multi-disciplinary groups.

Qualifications

B.S./M.S. degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related technical field.

12+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Section 401/404 Clean Water Act permitting and reporting, NEPA/FERC, aquatic ecology; threatened and endangered species consultation.

Demonstrated client development and relationship management experience to grow and expand the delivery of our services to the power, mining, real estate, oil and gas, manufacturing, and public sector markets.

Ability to provide senior technical expertise and mentoring to staff and managers in the ecological practice.

Experience working with state and federal regulators and demonstrated understanding of regulations from agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
