Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Gynecologic Oncology Ambulatory Care

This position reports to the Clinical Oncology Supervisor and is responsible for the development and implementation of ambulatory care clinical pharmacy services and initiatives that optimize the patient care experience and drive organizational performance in the Gynecologic Oncology clinic. In this practice setting, the pharmacist will establish a robust clinical pharmacy practice focusing on patient‑centered care and supporting medication management, therapy optimization, and certain operational aspects of pharmacy care delivery in pertinent areas such as intravenous and oral anti‑cancer therapies across oncology diagnoses, to include patient education, adherence, and adverse effect management. This position will also be involved in pharmacy student and resident (PGY1 and PGY2) training and will support other healthcare professional education initiatives.

Work Schedule

Full Time, 80 hours/pay period

Days (Mon - Fri)

Location: Anschutz Cancer Pavilion, University of Colorado Hospital

Responsibilities

Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication regimens to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual medication‑related problems.

Provides patient care by initiating, modifying, and monitoring medication therapy through approved mechanisms that may include therapeutic interchange, collaborative practice agreement, or other strategies.

Provides drug information and education to medical professionals, students, and patients.

Collaborates with care team to develop, implement and evaluate medication management quality improvement efforts.

Participates in local and system committees with medication related focus impacting oncology, as appropriate.

Precepts pharmacy students and residents.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy degree with active Colorado pharmacist licensure.

Ideal candidate would have: PGY2 residency in Oncology, OR PGY1 residency + 5 years of Oncology Clinical experience, OR no residency and 7 years of Oncology Clinical experience.

Board certification in area of expertise within 1 year of employment.

The pay range for this position is: $62.19 – $87.07 per hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
