We are looking to add an experienced and talented
Senior Quality Engineer
to our team. In this position, you will use a variety of process improvement tactics, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology, and Kaizen. Your job is to collect data and analyze current operating procedures to determine which continuous improvement process technique is the best for our situation. The QA Engineer will also be responsible for the inception, maintenance and update of central directives pertaining to systematic problem solving, process quality engineering and Lean manufacturing principles within QMS. This role is multi‑dimensional requiring interfacing with internal customers (Management, Engineering (SW & HW), and Manufacturing) to drive the corrective action culture and, in due course, transition into a lean process quality engineer optimizing the production system using lessons‑learned (LL) methodology and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies and addresses improvement opportunities and develops root cause countermeasures.
Leads and facilitates process improvement workshops and projects to drive business results across the organization.
Mentors, influences, and develops potential lean practitioner candidates through projects and events driving change.
Develops and drives Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and continuous improvement roadmaps and action plans.
Ensures lean activities are aligned with goals, metrics, and business strategy.
Provides leadership with awareness, knowledge, and guidance of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools to support achievement of business objectives.
Plans, coordinates, and leads employee development training in Lean and Six Sigma.
Performs machine capability (CmK) and test equipment capability (GR&R) studies in manufacturing and metrology using appropriate statistical software.
Supports internal, external, and AS9100 quality audits.
Supports the development and implementation of performance metrics.
Assists with other QA duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, engineering or related degree.
Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience.
Experience with continuous quality improvement activities in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems compliance.
Demonstrated history of leading Kaizen events that eliminated waste and improved flow.
Strong digital, written, and verbal communication skills.
Root Cause analysis and Continuous Improvement.
Value Stream Mapping.
Lean Six Sigma.
Experience
Manufacturing experience in the aerospace or electronics industry.
Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt Certified.
AS9100 / ISO 9000 Auditor.
