About the Role Fishbeck is seeking a skilled Water & Wastewater Engineer to join our growing team. This position involves a mix of design and field work, with immediate needs focused on field-based construction support for water and wastewater treatment projects in Mid-Michigan. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience in inspection, construction observation, or resident project representation (RPR) and a strong understanding of treatment plant design principles.
Key Responsibilities
Perform field inspection, observation, and documentation for water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
Assist with design tasks, including evaluations, calculations, and preparation of plans and specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across Fishbeck offices.
Support engineering staff with data evaluation, report preparation, and project coordination.
Interact directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure quality and consistency.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or construction-related roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred; candidates with a Construction Engineering or Technician background or will be considered with relevant experience.
Experience as an Inspector, Resident Project Representative (RPR), or in other field-related roles on water or wastewater treatment projects preferred.
Experience with water/wastewater design is a plus.
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel to and maneuver around project sites for fieldwork and meetings.
Normal office conditions when completing design or documentation tasks.
Visual acuity and ability to use standard office and field equipment.
