Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and oversight of student organization and career services events and programs for 1L, 2L, 3L and LL.M. classes. Advise and support student groups and special student populations as they organize, plan and execute large- and small-scale events and meetings. Communicate with student leaders, student groups, and individuals to ensure compliance with university and departmental policies and procedures. Student Event Support and Execution: assist in implementation of student organization, student life, and career development workshops, panel discussions, and programs; coordinate content, materials, invitations, calendars, liaison with student organizations, attendance tracking, and event signage; coordinate with participants; topics include job fair preparation, legal practice areas, student job searches, interview strategies, geographic interests, job fair orientations, practice interview programs, resume workshops, and related events. Recruiting Event Support: oversee and coordinate recruiting events for all classes, including firm receptions and events; collaborate with Senior Assistant Dean of Career Services and Director of Career and Professional Development to implement large-scale events. Student Events Liaison: coordinate events hosted by student groups; disseminate information from employers and industry groups; arrange meetings among student group leaders, Senior Assistant Dean of Career Services, and Director of Career and Professional Development; resolve conflicts between calendared events and student group events; connect alumni and experts as panelists or speakers; assist with communications and inquiries related to student group events. Assist in creation, organization, and updating of employment and personal information for students served by the Office of Career Services; data used for internal assessments and external publications. Attend student group events and employer/industry events. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the college’s strategic goals. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education or an academic field related to the program coordinator’s area of responsibility; or a bachelor’s degree in education or related field and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred:
Excellent communication skills; strong computer skills (Microsoft Office); ability to manage multiple projects; strong organizational skills; teamwork and interpersonal abilities; emotional intelligence and listening skills; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to conduct individual meetings, lead large programs, and develop materials for students and faculty; ability to use and refine electronic databases to monitor student progress; proven track record of creative problem-solving and teamwork.
