Overview

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc (UHS). IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics and provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. The Senior Accountant coordinates and prepares the usual and customary accounting transactions and activities with assigned Corporate Accounting functions such as general ledger, inter-company transactions, AP, AR, budgets, financial reporting, or other assigned accounting functions in accordance with sound accounting standards, practices, and company policies and procedures. Conducts reconciliations of balance sheet asset and liability accounts to ensure correctness. Identifies and resolves discrepancies. The Senior Accountant is responsible for fixed assets accounting for Independent Physician Management physician practices. Responsibilities

Identifies and records fixed assets cost, calculates depreciation, and investigates assets potential obsolescence. Coordinates and prepares monthly financial package schedules. Prepares and posts month end close journal entries. Posts expenses and revenues to generate statements and worksheets. Reviews data, payroll information, bank statements, outstanding checks, etc. Reconciles bank balances. Takes corrective actions as required. Provides accounting and information systems support to management and Practices. Performs monthly and ad hoc reports/analysis. Assists management with compiling data for internal and external audits. Assists management with compiling data for capital and operating budgets. Performs other duties as assigned/required. Qualifications

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline. Minimum 5-8 years of experience. Working knowledge of general accounting concepts, practices, standards, principles and activities related to one or more corporate accounting functions such as General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, AP, etc. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, numerical facility and analytical abilities. Five to eight years in general corporate accounting in a major accounting function such as General Ledger, Budget, Financial Reporting, AP, etc. Hospital experience preferred. Benefits
