Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high quality medical care to a variety of animal patients, including diagnostics, treatment, surgery, and preventive care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests to determine the health status of animals
Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions
Conduct surgeries, including spaying, neutering, and soft tissue or orthopedic procedures
Administer vaccinations and prescribe medications
Provide guidance on nutrition, behavior, preventive care, and general wellness
Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with regulations and hospital policies
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff for efficient patient care
Communicate clearly with pet owners about diagnoses, treatment plans, and aftercare
Stay current with developments in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
Valid veterinary license in the practicing state
Experience in general practice, surgery, or emergency medicine preferred
Strong diagnostic and decision making skills
Compassionate, professional demeanor and ability to work in a team oriented environment
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with digital imaging, ultrasound, and lab diagnostics
Experience with practice management software (e.g., AVImark, Cornerstone)
Interest or certification in a specialty area (e.g., dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine)
