Shift: 3×12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, alternating weekends)
Pay: $2,057.40/week (plus $2,050 completion bonus per contract, up to $6,150 after three contracts)
Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The RN will provide specialized care for expectant mothers and newborns throughout all phases of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure obstetric emergencies. The ideal candidate is skilled in fetal monitoring, labor progression management, and neonatal resuscitation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and continuous nursing care to laboring patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
Monitor fetal heart rates, uterine activity, and maternal vital signs to assess patient and fetal well-being.
Administer medications, including oxytocin, epidurals, and postpartum agents, following established protocols.
Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries while maintaining aseptic technique.
Manage post-delivery recovery, assessing for complications such as hemorrhage or infection.
Educate and support mothers and families throughout the childbirth process and immediate postpartum care.
Ensure readiness and participation in emergency procedures such as neonatal resuscitation or obstetric hemorrhage.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including OB physicians, anesthesiologists, and NICU staff to coordinate comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the facility’s EMR system.
Float as needed to Women’s Services or units of similar acuity.
Qualifications
Active Mississippi RN license or Compact State license (required).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (required).
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (required).
Strong proficiency in fetal monitoring, labor management, and emergency obstetric care.
Ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in fast-paced L&D environments.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Must reside 50+ miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted).
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
