Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Development
Join our Product Development team as a
Mechanical Design Engineer , working in close partnership with
Nuvera , Hyster‑Yale’s clean energy division advancing fuel cell and hydrogen technologies.
What You’ll Do
Lead technology and product development projects for fuel cell stack components and assemblies.
Develop and refine new product designs and prototypes that balance innovation, quality, cost, and delivery.
Conduct engineering analyses to ensure function, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance.
Collaborate across disciplines—mechanical, electrical, materials, and manufacturing—to integrate product solutions.
Plan and manage project phases, coordinating work with internal and external partners.
Support a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the engineering team.

Education
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) from an ABET‑accredited institution.
7+ years of experience in product development and design.
Experience in mechanical design and analysis; familiarity with FEA, CFD, and 3D parametric modeling (SolidWorks or equivalent).
Skills, Abilities, & Experience
Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Exposure to prototype and production processes such as machining, molding, forming, casting, and welding.
Comfortable working both in the office and lab environments, including hands‑on testing and evaluation.
