Patent Agent – Software & Electronics
A leading intellectual property law firm is seeking a full‑time, USPTO-registered Patent Agent. This role focuses on preparing and prosecuting software‑related patent applications for clients ranging from innovative start-ups to large global enterprises.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of patent prosecution experience and a strong interest in portfolio development and client counseling. A background in computer‑related fields and experience with cutting‑edge software technologies is highly valued.
Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications in the software and electronics space.
Collaborate with inventors, in‑house counsel, and firm attorneys to develop strategic claim approaches.
Provide insights on portfolio development and conduct client counseling on patent matters.
Manage deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy in written work.
Qualifications
USPTO Registration Number required.
Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.
Prefer background or patent prosecution experience in technologies such as: Cloud computing, Security and encryption, Artificial intelligence (AI), Bioinformatics, Mobile applications, Databases and networking.
Detail‑oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
