Our team is responsible for integrating sensor modules for our autonomous vehicle program. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join the Sensor Integration team. In this role, you will build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), update and improve mechanical designs, and support the development and production of custom sensor module assemblies. Responsibilities
Manage existing Bill of Materials and overall design configurations using CAD and PLM tools Work closely with PLM team to release all design changes on multiple systems Work closely with manufacturing team to ensure a smooth rollout of a New Product Review existing product design and propose improvements to hardware and processes. Lead root cause analysis for issues arising during initial build with cross functional teams Design and build visual mockups, proofs of concept, fixtures to support manufacturing teams Manage design and development activities for multiple internal and external suppliers, towards the successful delivery of one or more electromechanical systems Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and quality personnel to ramp production processes and meet build objectives Maintain BOMs, documenting and approving build processes, and supporting quality and cost engineering throughout the supply chain of your assemblies Qualifications
BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent 5+ years of industry experience; automotive experience preferred 3D CAD design experience; Catia V5/V6 preferred Experience launching a product in high-volume environments Experience with electronic modules in an automotive context Experience with die cast, injection molded, and sheet metal parts Knowledge of automotive sensing modalities, electromechanical behaviors, and integration challenges Experience building products and assemblies through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to production ramp Bonus Qualifications
General aptitude with machining, 3D printing, hand tools, electronics Experience managing international supply chain with onsite workshops and build audits Experience creating 2D mechanical drawings with appropriate GD&T Experience with Quality Engineering principles and inspection processes Experience managing external suppliers (T1s and CMs) BENEFITS SUMMARY:
