FP&A Manager — Strategic Commercial Finance Partner

If you live for financial storytelling — the kind that connects numbers to decisions — this one’s for you.

SME&U , a National niche staffing firm, specializing in placing finance and accounting professionals, is helping a fast-growing

mid‑size manufacturing

find their next FP&A Manager. They’re scaling fast, investing in new technology, and want someone who can help leadership see what’s really happening behind the spreadsheets — and help drive revenue growth alongside the commercial team.

What You’ll Do

Partner directly with the CFO and commercial leaders (sales, business development, pricing) to forecast, model, and analyze the company’s performance.

Develop and maintain dynamic financial models that don’t just track the past — they help shape what comes next.

Dive into profitability, ROI, cash flow, working capital, sales volume/mix, contract pricing, and scenario analyses.

Support commercial finance efforts: analyze revenue drivers, collaborate with sales on deal terms, build business‑cases for new growth initiatives.

Track and report the KPIs that matter: sales, margin by product line, channel performance, cost to serve.

Be part of the monthly close and reporting rhythm — working alongside accounting, operations, and commercial teams.

Present insights to cross‑functional stakeholders and help the business run smarter, faster, more profitable.

Who You Are

4‑6+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, business analysis or similar roles where you did both numbers and strategy.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, scenario modelling, (why is this model broken?) level).

Comfortable translating between finance and commercial/sales teams — you understand business drivers like price, volume, channel, and cost.

Can stand in front of high level executives and professionally, accurately, and clearly tell the story about what the numbers are saying.

Experience in a manufacturing or product‑driven business environment is a plus.

Familiarity with ERP/BI tools (Infor, Power BI, etc.).

You can juggle multiple projects, keep your cool (and your formulas) when things shift fast.

Bonus if you’ve had exposure to commercial contract analysis, pricing/sales support, or deal modeling.

MBA, CPA, or CFA? Nice to have, but not required. What really matters is curiosity, business acumen, and strong communication.

The Vibe

This team is collaborative, hands‑on, and moves fast. You’ll interface with decision‑makers who value insight over jargon. They’ll rely on you not just to produce the numbers — they’ll expect you to own them, test them, challenge them, and help build what comes next.

Yes, there will be late nights (budget season is real). But there will also be great coffee, great people, and a culture that celebrates logic and creativity.

If you like numbers and you love using them to move a business — especially on the commercial/sales side — this could be your next adventure.

Apply through SME&U — let’s talk about what’s next.
