Summary Manage the design and execution of electrical, instrumentation, and controls aspects of medium‑to‑small capital projects. Responsible for safety and environmental compliance, project planning, scheduling, and budget monitoring. Execute assignments of medium complexity, developing solutions for defined problems.
Responsibilities
Demonstrated skills executing projects on budget, on schedule, and technically sound.
Lead electrical, instrumentation, and controls implementation for U.S. and Canadian markets.
Oversee and supervise all electrical, instrumentation, and controls aspects of projects.
Maintain flexibility with assignments across different units.
Monitor project budgets and expenses.
Communicate effectively with other disciplines to deliver projects.
Represent Grifols in project execution meetings.
Participate with the Division Sales Representative during pre‑sales meetings.
Demonstrate facilitation skills to reach consensus and develop win‑win solutions.
Make decisions within defined responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Provide guidance to CAD designers for electrical and controls design.
Review and recommend contracts and develop cost estimates.
Supervise quality control and ensure compliance with building codes, FDA regulations, and other applicable standards.
Interface directly with customers and suppliers to resolve specific application problems.
Requirements
Demonstrated high levels of value, integrity, and leadership of company vision.
Proactive in process optimization and project management.
Excellent interpersonal, technical writing, and communication skills.
Strong technical and problem‑solving skills in a construction environment.
Knowledge of engineering programs, systems, and procedures.
AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
Revit knowledge preferred.
Working knowledge of cGMP, Process Flows, P&ID, design software, and schematics.
Excellent verbal and written communication at all organizational levels.
Practical application skills and flexibility to adapt programs and services to meet specific needs.
Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask.
Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management is required, with emphasis on electrical, instrumentation, and controls design preferred.
Professional Registration Professional registration and/or certifications as appropriate.
Experience Minimum 5 years of comprehensive experience in a medium‑sized organization. Directly related experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered as an equivalency.
Travel Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
Occupational Demands Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequent sitting for 4–6 hours per day, hand movements, occasional bending, and lifting up to 35 lbs. Frequent travel to site locations and within the United States.
Compensation The estimated pay scale for the Electrical Engineer role based in Los Angeles, CA, is $90,000 – $110,000 per year, with eligibility for up to 5% of the company bonus pool.
