Overview Customers expect our networks to perform at a high level all the time. With the exponentially increasing network usage for both Mobility and FWA, the RF team is responsible for modernizing and growing the network to maintain optimum service for our customers efficiently and reliably. That’s where you come in. You will be responsible for improving network performance by completing RF designs for the regional network with emphasis on traffic analysis, network performance, antenna/RF path theory, and using wireless network design and optimization platforms. The work you’ll be doing will directly impact customer satisfaction and help keep us ahead of the competition.
Responsibilities
Designing and planning the Radio Frequency Network for LTE and 5G, including RF analysis for Macro and Small Cells.
Preparing FCC/FAA submissions, RFDS, CIQ, completing regulatory tasks, 911 submissions, and reviewing EME studies in a timely manner.
Evaluating coverage/capacity issues and running projections to identify the best solutions for expanding network coverage and mitigating capacity‑triggering sectors.
Supporting the RF team in keeping the most accurate data in planning tools and maintaining data integrity across all platforms.
What we’re looking for You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Experience in RF propagation tools (Atoll) and data analysis.
Knowledge of mapping software such as MapInfo, Google Earth, ArcGIS.
RF design experience in LTE and NR networks.
Samsung LTE and NR network experience.
Highly motivated with a passion for developing innovative solutions and learning new technologies.
Knowledge of RF fundamentals, RF design principles, and RF engineering tools.
Even better if you have one or more of the following
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Skills in Atoll operation and prediction models.
Experience in analyzing network performance/metrics and selecting antenna/radio solutions for capacity and/or coverage requirements.
Experience in pulling data from multiple sources, condensing into one format, analyzing and processing the data, and generating evaluation/solution reports.
Ability to manipulate and manage data using SQL, GCP, and scripting languages such as Python, App Script/Java, or Peri.
Good understanding of engineering concepts and an aptitude to learn.
Experience in geospatial analysis, Tableau, programming, and data analysis.
Good communication skills, time management, attention to detail, teamwork, and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Five or more years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry with direct experience in RF Design & Optimization.
Solid knowledge of RF theory and practice as well as LTE/VoLTE, 5G, and VoNR Technology.
Where you’ll be working In this hybrid role, based out of the Irving, TX office, you will be required to work a minimum of 3 days a week in the office (Tuesday–Thursday).
