Our customers are brokers, claims teams, and underwriters who use Qumis to analyze, compare, and generate insights from complex insurance contracts at the speed of thought. Role
Were looking for a Founding Operations & Automation Lead to build and own the core systems and processes that keep Qumis running. Youll handle critical internal operationsinformation security, company admin, vendor management, complianceand layer in AI-native workflows and internal tooling to scale us far beyond human speed. Youll work directly with the CEO and cross-functionally across the business to design systems, eliminate inefficiencies, and turn chaos into clarity. This is not a traditional ops role; were looking for someone who asks: How can we automate this? Where can AI or internal tooling replace manual work? Whats the system we need in place so this scales as we grow 10x? Key Responsibilities Own internal operations: vendor management, SOC?2 compliance, HR/payroll systems, contract organization, benefits setup, IT/security workflows, etc. Build internal automations using Zapier, Retool, OpenAI, Airtable, and other tools to streamline day-to-day execution. Stand up and maintain key business systems and documentation (e.g. Notion, GDrive, Slack integrations, knowledge bases). Lead special projects to unblock the teameverything from spinning up dashboards to coordinating external consultants. Build internal processes that scale without needing more headcount. Act as the systems brain of the company, building smart infrastructure for a high?velocity future.
Who You Are
26 years of experience in operations, business systems, internal tools, or automation at a high?growth startup. Systems thinker and relentless executor. AI? and tooling?savvyproficient with Zapier, Notion, Airtable, Retool, GPT prompts, and browser extensions. Strong judgment and discretion for sensitive internal work. Thrives in ambiguity and turns half?baked ideas into working systems. Obsessed with efficiency, automation, and internal operations. Bonus: experience with SOC?2, compliance, or startup finance ops.
